<\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>I ordered this <a href=\"https:\/\/livingdough.com\/products\/233yr-old-verified-heritage-san-francisco-sourdough-starter\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">233-year-old sourdough starter<\/a> from San Francisco and have been feeding this baby daily. This bakery near my apartment, <a href=\"https:\/\/maps.app.goo.gl\/azZ2NmYjqsSmYhLa7\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Tommy and Atticus<\/a>, is named after their sourdough starters. I decided to call mine ‘Seymour’ after <a href=\"https:\/\/www.imdb.com\/title\/tt0091419\/\"><em>Little Shop of Horrors<\/em><\/a> since I’m always feeding it. Yes, I realized afterwards that ‘Seymour’ is actually Rick Moranis’ character’s name, and not the name of the blood thirsty venus fly trap, but I’ve already been calling him ‘Seymour’ for 5 days now \u00af\\_(\u30c4)_\/\u00af<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.mayanrocks.com\/blog\/what-am-i-gonna-do-now-dan-levy.gif\" alt=\"what am i gonna do now schitt's creek gif\" width=\"200\"><\/p>\n<p>I give names to all the dogs I used to see while walking around my sister’s neighborhood. Lucille, Chico, Thierry Henry (named after the French pundit on <em>Ted Lasso<\/em>), Oksana…<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.mayanrocks.com\/blog\/neighborhood-dogs.gif\" alt=\"dogs\" width=\"100%\"><\/p>\n<p>When I first saw Oksana, her pawrents had a Ukranian flag on their balcony. I thought for the longest time she was a he, so I originally named her ‘David’ after <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/news\/nikki-kuhnhausen-murder-transgender-teen-david-bogdanov-sentenced\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">David Bogdanov<\/a>, a convicted murderer I watched a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailycrime.com\/murder-of-nikki-kuhnhausen-by-david-bogdanov-examined-on-48-hours-on-id\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">true crime docu<\/a> of who fled to Ukraine after he killed someone \ud83d\ude05<\/p>\n\n\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"100%\" src=\"http:\/\/www.mayanrocks.com\/blog\/oksana.jpg\" alt=\"chat\"><\/p>\n\n\n<p>All that to say, it’s not the first time I fumbled a name \ud83d\ude06<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.mayanrocks.com\/blog\/sourdough-starter-jars.jpg\" alt=\"sourdough starter\" width=\"100%\"><\/p>\n<p><strong>Update<\/strong>: With the daily feedings, the sourdough starter was multiplying at a more rapid rate than one of my quart mason jars could contain, so I had to split it into two jars. I was gonna name them ‘Dylan and Zoey’ after Christine’s twins, but didn’t want her other daughter, KD, to feel left out, so I\u2019ve now renamed them after the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/propertybrothers\/?hl=en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Property Brothers<\/a>, Jonathan and Drew \ud83d\ude06<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.mayanrocks.com\/blog\/unbreakable-kimmy-schmidt-property-brothers.gif\" alt=\"unbreakable kimmy schmidt property brothers gif\" width=\"100%\"><\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This is the start(er) of something beautiful.
