I didn&#8217;t blink an eye when they said that she had been fatally stabbed 80 times, but I audibly gasped when they said her dog was also stabbed once but survived \ud83d\ude05<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.mayanrocks.com\/blog\/gilbert-slain-dog.jpg\" width=\"100%\"><\/p>\n<p><strong>Update:<\/strong> It was sad to hear that a gunman (posing as law enforcement!) <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/minnesota\/news\/melissa-hortman-killed-john-hoffman-political-shootings\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">fatally shot<\/a> Democratic leader and Minnesota House Speaker Melissa Hortman and her husband in their home, but I just saw he also wounded their beloved Golden Retriever, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbs.org\/newshour\/politics\/hortmans-beloved-dog-gilbert-lay-in-state-with-slain-minnesota-lawmaker-and-her-spouse\">Gilbert<\/a>, so bad that the dog had to be put down because of his injuries \ud83d\ude2d Minnesota doesn&#8217;t have the death penalty, but exceptions are made for federal cases.
