{"id":34067,"date":"2022-07-05T16:56:44","date_gmt":"2022-07-05T23:56:44","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mayanrocks.com\/?p=34067"},"modified":"2024-12-02T14:51:05","modified_gmt":"2024-12-02T22:51:05","slug":"party-in-the-usa","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mayanrocks.com\/?p=34067","title":{"rendered":"Party in the USA."},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"100%\" src=\"http:\/\/www.mayanrocks.com\/blog\/nathans-tv.jpg\" alt=\"nathan's hot dog eating contest\"><\/p>\n\n\n<p>My sister&#8217;s husband is convinced that I secretly have a poster of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com\/espn\/story\/_\/id\/34193679\/joey-jaws-chestnut-slowed-injury-captures-15th-fourth-july-hot-dog-eating-contest-title-eating-63-franks-buns\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Joey Chestnut<\/a> in my apartment, and I can&#8217;t confirm or deny that.<\/p>\n\n\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"100%\" src=\"http:\/\/www.mayanrocks.com\/blog\/patriotic-charcuterie-board.jpg\" alt=\"patriotic charcuterie board\"><\/p>\n\n\n<p>Red, white and blue (cheese) &#8211; I was that asshole at three different grocery stores looking for that slice of heaven that is <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cypressgrovecheese.com\/cheese\/soft-ripened-cheeses\/humboldt-fog\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">humboldt fog<\/a> in the artisanal cheese aisle to complete my board.<\/p>\n\n\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"100%\" src=\"http:\/\/www.mayanrocks.com\/blog\/bbq-rooftop-pinnacle.gif\" alt=\"rooftop bbq\"><\/p>\n\n\n<p>Views and &#8216;cue &#8211; two of my favorite things. This private rooftop is a dream.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Not pictured:<\/strong> me almost lighting my hair on fire after some lunatic let me be in charge of the short ribs<\/p>\n\n\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"100%\" src=\"http:\/\/www.mayanrocks.com\/blog\/kingcrab-steam.gif\" alt=\"king crab legs\"><\/p>\n\n\n<p>Listen, sometimes you have to choose between buying a box of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.costco.com\/northwest-fish-southern-red-king-crab%2C-16-22-count%2C-10lbs..product.100812945.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">costco king crab legs<\/a> or paying your rent. Luckily, Pammie bought these babies and afforded me another month in my studio. Ha.<\/p>\n\n\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"100%\" src=\"http:\/\/www.mayanrocks.com\/blog\/white-claw-fridge.jpg\" alt=\"white claw fridge\"><\/p>\n\n\n<p>Is it even a party if you don&#8217;t stock your wine fridge with white claw???<\/p>\n\n\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"100%\" src=\"http:\/\/www.mayanrocks.com\/blog\/icee-maker.gif\" alt=\"icee maker\"><\/p>\n\n\n<p>Alicia got me this icee machine for my birthday a few years ago, and I don&#8217;t know why I waited so long to bust it out (besides diabetes and the lack of counter space). I&#8217;m pretty sure Shi and I had more icees than the kids did!<\/p>\n\n\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"100%\" src=\"http:\/\/www.mayanrocks.com\/blog\/crumbl-4th.jpg\" alt=\"crumbl\"><\/p>\n\n\n<p>Christine came through with the Crumbl cookies!<\/p>\n\n\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"100%\" src=\"http:\/\/www.mayanrocks.com\/blog\/rooftop-fireworks.gif\" alt=\"fireworks\"><\/p>\n\n\n<p><strong>Added bonus:<\/strong> The rooftop has a clear view of the fireworks from the olympic training center.<\/p>\n\n\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"100%\" src=\"http:\/\/www.mayanrocks.com\/blog\/rooftop-sparklers.gif\" alt=\"sparklers\"><\/p>\n\n\n<p>I hope everyone&#8217;s 4th was as lit as the illegal fireworks we bought on the side of the road!<\/p>\n<p>Thanks to Pammie for hosting the best party ever at her new digs!
