I couldn&#8217;t find it when I was flying domestically earlier this year to use in lieu of the Real ID I still didn&#8217;t have at the time, so I reported it lost thinking I could easily get a replacement &#8211; Turns out they void your old passport, make you pay the full fee for a new one, and show up in person with your birth certificate to prove your identification. And, I found my old passport in a random moving box, but I had already reported it lost<\/p>\n<p>All that to say, I finally made an appointment to get my passport, even though I have no plans to travel internationally anytime soon. I printed my passport application and attached a photo I took for my passport last year since Kinko&#8217;s gave me extras.<\/p>\n<p>You guys. A whole plethora of shit went wrong:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>I got my A\/C fixed last week, and it worked when I drove my car home, but it was back to blowing hot air again on the way to my passport appointment and it was over fucking 90\u00b0 &#8211; My dad is taking my car back to the mechanic who &#8216;fixed&#8217; it today so he could put some knuckle in his eyeballs!<\/li>\n<li>I thought my application was properly filled out, but they asked me to fill in the blanks &#8211; does my dad have a middle name, what cities in the Philippines are my parents from, what is the confirmation # I got when I reported my passport lost in the beginning of the year&#8230; Like, I brought my old passport that I reported lost and found. Clearly, I am who I am.<\/li>\n<li>I made the mistake of bringing the passport I reported lost, bc she saw that the picture I attached was the same one from my last passport &#8211; She said that the picture has to be taken within 6 months, and she needs to take a new one of me. How would anyone know?! I look the same. I was prepared to take that original photo, so I&#8217;m wearing makeup in it, my lashes are done, and I&#8217;m wearing a decent top. I thought I would be in and out like a robbery this time, so I just threw my hair in a top knot, didn&#8217;t wear a stitch of makeup, and wore my &#8216;Future Corpse&#8217; shirt. I was sweaty bc my car&#8217;s A\/C was broken. I was a hot mess express and this picture is gonna be on my passport for the next decade \ud83d\ude05<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>My friend got a nose job and had to bring a letter from her plastic surgeon when she traveled bc she looked nothing like her passport photo afterwards \ud83d\ude06 Do I need to do something similar? &#8216;I swear that&#8217;s me &#8211; I don&#8217;t usually look like garbage&#8217; \ud83d\ude1c<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I thought I lost my passport (that I just renewed last year!) when I moved back to SD from LA.
