{"id":372420,"date":"2026-10-05T20:27:27","date_gmt":"2026-10-06T03:27:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/mayanrocks.com\/?p=372420"},"modified":"2026-10-05T20:27:44","modified_gmt":"2026-10-06T03:27:44","slug":"in-loving-memory","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mayanrocks.com\/?p=372420","title":{"rendered":"In Loving Memory."},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.mayanrocks.com\/blog\/spooky-gifts.jpg\" width=\"100%\"><\/p>\n\n<p>Christine and her kiddos always gift me the spookiest shit and I love it \ud83d\udc80\ud83d\udda4<\/p>\n\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.mayanrocks.com\/blog\/chat-christine-goodies.jpg\" alt=\"chat\" width=\"100%\"><\/p>\n\n<p>Christine was sick with covid and her dad passed away a couple weeks ago \ud83d\ude14 She has been through so much this past decade &#8211; both her parents passing away, breast cancer, new jobs\u2026 She\u2019s not the type of person to ask for help, so I thought I would drop off some goodies to make her life a little easier.<\/p>\n\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.mayanrocks.com\/blog\/chat-pammie-doordash.jpg\" alt=\"chat\" width=\"100%\"><\/p>\n\n<p>Pammie was also sick (was it the rain, a week of BTS concerts in LA, who really is to blame here?), so I also doordashed her some of her favorites from this Thai place by my parents&#8217; house.<\/p>\n\n<p>She was listing off all things she needed to do Saturday before we watched the playoff game. She has a presentation due this afternoon and back-to-back meetings, and we were gonna be at the funeral all morning. I\u2019m all caught up on work till Tuesday, so I was just grilling pineapple in my underwear on Saturday (her husband was in Maui, calm down), and I said, \u2018Why don\u2019t I run those errands for you?\u2019<\/p>\n\n<p>The relief on her face! My sister\u2019s love language is not having to ask \ud83e\udd2a<\/p>\n\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.mayanrocks.com\/blog\/chat-pammie-to-do.jpg\" alt=\"chat\" width=\"100%\"><\/p>\n\n<p>She texted me a to-do list, including things I needed to do for myself &#8211; get ribbon to make the sashes for Christine&#8217;s dad&#8217;s casket and floral arrangements, get an eyeglass repair kit bc the screw keeps falling out of the arm of my sunglasses, get a serious eyebrow threading LOL bc Christine&#8217;s 8-year-old daughter once told our friend (who&#8217;s a girl), &#8216;I like your mustache!&#8217; \ud83e\udd23 so I always have my shit groomed when I know I&#8217;m gonna see that little b bc she terrifies me LOL.<\/p>\n\nAll that to say, do the things. Run the errands. Send the doordash.
