A few years ago, Pammie texted me this song she thought I’d like:

It was totally my stee, and reminded me of this other Korean indie band I came across on Spotify, The Poles:
I saw that wave to earth is doing a world tour and is gonna be at The Greek in LA. I was seriously considering going up to LA to see them, but then they added a show at SDSU’s Open Air Theater! I went to the The Poles’ IG to see if they ever tour the U.S., and they had a link in their bio to @wavyseoul, the same label wave to earth is on. After some light googling, I found out that the lead singer of wave to earth is also the lead singer for The Poles! In my defense, wave to earth’s music is more jazzy and in English, while The Poles is more rock and in Korean. I thought I liked Korean indie music, but it turns out I just like the dulcet tones of Daniel Kim 😆
This is like the first time I heard The Postal Service and was like, ‘This is Death Cab.’ Ben Gibbard’s voice is unmistakeable. I had no idea he had a side project!

Anyway, I just invited Jess to go to their show with me bc I know it’s her vibe too, and she would probably enjoy it more than Pammie (she just likes BTS, not all things Korean LOL). I always buy my tickets in pairs, even though I don’t know who I’m going with. I only buy single John Mayer tickets bc I know for a fact I’m going by myself LOL.
Jess and I went to a Padres game alone together once, and when she picked me up in an Uber from my mom’s house (it was after the stroke and I wasn’t driving again yet), my mom was like, ‘It’s just you two???’ You get roofied once in your 20s with Jess, and nobody ever lets you forget it 😅
Jess confirmed she could come with, but not before sending me this song she heard on Spotify today:
How can the world keep moving on?
I will never let myself move on
So now I’m crying in da clurb even though the Padres are beating LA right now 😩
