Pammie called me the other day and said she was worried about traveling by herself to a foreign country for a concert (she has a work trip to the Philippines in December, and BTS has shows in Singapore during that time, so she was going to extend her trip and pop over to Singapore bc she’s crazy), so instead she decided to see them in the U.S. at their show(s) in Jersey next month! They also have shows in Boston, Chicago and Baltimore, but the Jersey dates were the only ones that didn’t overlap with her board meetings and shit. Mind you, we’re also seeing them in LA in September LOL π€ͺ
I have absolutely no desire to go to New Jersey, but partly bc I have FOMO, and mostly bc she’s staying nearby in NYC, I told her I’d join her!

I know I was just talking about how I overspend when I travel with my sister, but she’s taking care of the hotel, I’m only going to one of two shows (probably), and I bought plane tickets in coach while her ass is in first class π€ͺ This is how I save money, guys Β―\_(γ)_/Β―
My manual dexterity took a big hit after the stroke, affecting my impeccable penmanship, my ability to open jars LOL, and apparently now tying balloons and looping them through a plastic garland strip, so Pammie helped me build this beauty. We were v surprised at how good it turned out – If you know Pammie, she’s not crafty at all and usually hates doing shit like this!
One thing about me: I donβt half ass anything – I always use my full ass πβπΌ
When I found out that BTS was live streaming their concert from Korea on their 13th anniversary (Festa), I knew I wanted to throw a watch party complete with a Korean spread (Korean fried chicken, japchae, Korean short ribs, tteokboki, Korean BBQ chicken, gimbap, Korean fish cakes, kimchi fried rice and BTS-related goodies – ARIH noodles, HY BTS Coffee, and BTS Oreos), and decorations *googles how to make a balloon garland*
Yes, I cricutted my dog a BTS shirt, and yes, he’s so tired of my shit π
My record player has been on the fritz since I moved from LA, and instead of figuring out what was wrong with it, I just bought a new one. When I set it up, I was having the same problem that my old one was having, so I found an easy solution on Reddit, and was able to fix the old turntable, too π I’m just gonna give the old one to Pammie instead of returning the new one bc nobody has time for that shit – I also regularly miss return windows on Amazon purchases even though I walk Milo past the UPS Store a block away every damn day. And I always order more than I need so that I can get faster shipping by spending $25+, and I always say, ‘I’ll just return the extra stuff,’ but I never return the extra stuff…
Get you a friend with a projector for the ultimate viewing experience (It’s me. I’m the friend.)
Christine brought us matchas and magazines – GQ and something akin to J-14 or BOP back in the day (IYKYK) π
Jessie brought soju, beer, and cucumber kimchi from her kimchi guy (yes, she has a kimchi guy and doesn’t buy it jarred at HMart like a normal person). She has quietly been a fan of all things Korean for years now, and is loving that Pammie and I are into BTS now. Her 23 and me results said she was 1% Korean and she has really leaned into that 1% π€£
We try to get together at least once a month to catch up on each other’s lives, but we’ve all been so busy, so besides Christine’s kids’ birthday party last month, it’s been a few months since we’ve gotten together.
Topics of conversation:
who I’m (not) fucking
workplace drama
fights with husbands (to which I had nothing to contribute, ofc)
marriages (Christine and her husband are renewing their vows this year and I’m excited to go bc I was living in LA when they first got married and wasn’t able to attend their wedding)
divorces (yikes!)
“p*ssy on a platter”
JAM
Love these girls and love BTS π Happy Festa! π«°πΌ
Now I know the lyrics to their songs, their stage names AND their government names bc the audience says them in a fan chant during one of their songs π€ͺ
We got in line for merch at an unholy hour on Friday morning (people camped out the night before – not us LOL). They were only allowing each person to buy a maximum of one item from each category (hoodies, shirts, jerseys, etc.) We collectively spent $2K on merch, but all I personally bought was a $30 cradle for my lightstick LOL.
I did buy a hoodie for our new friend, Natalie, bc she wanted two of the same one and was limited to only one. BTS fans are something else! I’ve been to countless concerts in life, and I have never met a fandom so friendly and so generous. Donna stayed in my apartment in LA last year when she went to Jin of BTS’ solo show. She got a bunch of freebies, and she gave me a sticker of Jung Kook that’s still on my fridge! I thought it was so weird that people just made freebies to exchange with other fans with their own money.
Fast forward a year and I made freebies to exchange. What can I say, your girl loves to make gift bags. This was my time to shine π I only made 50, and it was hardly enough!
We got soooo many freebies and made so many new friends.
And I didn’t meet one person who only went to one show (they played 4 nights in Vegas). Everyone was going to multiple shows in Vegas, weren’t from Vegas, traveled for these shows, have seen them in other cities on this tour, and are seeing them again in different cities (Chicago, Baltimore, LA). I love traveling for shows, but I’ve never seen a band multiple times on the same tour – Not since Hoobastank in my 20s, and I just followed them through SoCal π€ͺ But I saw BTS twice in one weekend, and we’re planning to see them again in LA end of summer!
Vegas welcomed BTS like I’ve never seen them welcome an artist before. I was recently here for Bruno Mars, and yes they named a day and a street after him LOL, but it was nothing like this!
I would like to issue a formal apology to my sisterβs bestie, Donna Cole, who has been trying to convince us how great BTS is since the pandemic, but we werenβt hearing it. I will now dedicate my life going forward to these seven Korean guys π«°πΌ Their joy ignites my own π
Actual footage of me ascending after my first BTS concert:
When Pammie first asked me months ago if I wanted to see BTS in Vegas, I said yes with no hesitation even though I didn’t know their music. ‘I’m just going for the vibes,’ I said. Apparently, I’ll pay $1K+ for ‘vibes’. I don’t have a mortgage (though my rent costs more than my parents’ mortgage), I don’t have kids, I’m not into designer bags… I’d rather pay for experiences – VIP concert tickets, first class airfare, traveling… This is what I like to spend my hard-earned Art Director money on π€ͺ Just let me.
I charge everything besides my rent and bills to my credit card bc I get miles. My domestic flights are always free bc I have so many. I have no debt – I pay my credit card off every month. The problem with traveling with my sister is that she makes wayyyy more money than I do, but I forget that when we’re traveling together, and I spend like I’m rich, too π So I had to transfer money from my savings to cover my charges this month…
I usually reserve my skeleton bone nails for halloween or Dia De Los Deftones, but I was inspired by Jung Kook’s gloves π I had to wear them to the BTS concerts in Vegas! He doesn’t always wear them, but he wore them again on D1!
Yes, I made the skeleton bones on my cricut and yes, they glow in the dark π π»
He’s totally my stee – tattoos, piercings, always wears black, loves horror and skeleton shit π€ I have piercings that are older than him, but we can’t all be perfect Β―\_(γ)_/Β―
Still recovering from back-to-back BTS concerts and Memorial Day weekend in Vegas. I’ll just leave you with this view of the Sphere from our hotel room at The Palazzo till I’m ready to talk about it π
Nobody knows me, honey No one like you, ooh If you wanna go there I’m ready to be with you
He’s only 28. He’s only 28. He’s only 28.
Just reminding myself that he’s younger than my bestie’s first kid. Ya, she had him when we were 14-years-old LOL, but still! I’m old enough to be his mother!
You guys, I haven’t dated an Asian in over 20 years.
I like beards, tall guys and assholes apparently and Asians usually can’t grow facial hair, are shorter than I am, and are too pure for this world LOL.
An Asian guy I used to date in high school loved KPOP, even back in the 1900s before it was cool LOL. I was never into it.
I only agreed to go to BTS in Vegas on Memorial Weekend for a ridiculous amount of money (the most I’ve spent on a concert ever) bc of FOMO – my sister’s bestie loves BTS and is flying in from the east coast, and Pammie’s connect at the Allegiant was able to get us premium loge tickets. A week ago, I didn’t know any of their songs and couldn’t identify any of them in a police lineup.
While we were in Vegas last weekend for Bruno Mars, BTS had a live viewing of their concert in Korea one day only at the movie theatre, so we watched it at the Cinemark inside The Orleans. I didn’t know any of the songs and couldn’t tell any of them apart, but was thoroughly impressed. So impressed, that when Pammie asked if we could watch the live viewing of their Tokyo concert at the theatre this weekend, I said yes! And then after the show, we bought tickets to their Saturday concert in Vegas – our other tickets are for the Sunday show (they have 4 shows in Vegas that week). We’re gonna surprise my sister’s bestie with the second show and she’s gonna lose her shit!
Anyway, my favorite BTS member LOL is Jung Kook. He’s as much my stee as an Asian can be:
β tattoos
β piercings
β morbid – one of his outfits during the show is skeleton bone gloves and a shirt with a hockey mask on it like Jason from Friday the 13th
β dirty – his solo songs are v explicit
It’s the way that you can ride
Think I met you in another life
So break me off another time
You wrap around me and you give me life
And that’s why night after night
I’ll be fuckin’ you right
Fair warning: This blog may devolve into a BTS fan site.
This is my life now π«°πΌ Also, can I duolingo Korean in a month???
