You guys, I’ve lived in SoCal my entire life, and do not do well in less than perfect weather. My A/C is set to automatically go on if it gets above 70° in my apartment. I don’t even look at my electricity bill bc it’s on autopay. I drink my coffee iced, no matter how cold it is outside. I still sleep in my underwear when the A/C’s on full blast. I don’t sweat much, so I retain a lot of heat in my body. When I’ve used the sauna in the gym, my face is bone dry while everyone else is dripping sweat.
All that to say, I’m traveling to NYC this weekend and your girl is prepared for this heat wave:

Also, ur AC is set to 70?! Blizzard status! We never go under 75 lol. And i dont even turn on the AC if it’s just me in the house, which is usually during working hours when the kids are at my parents and cal is at work. When cal gets home, he finds me in the office with just a bra and my portable desk fan. He’s like, “why is it so hot in here?” And im like, “coz im not turning it on if it’s just me!” We have the same exchange every day lol. And i dont even pay the utilities, cal does lol
I wonder where i get my scarcity mentality. Coz i grew up spoiled with my parents. Something for me to think about lol

yeah, dude! i wfh and i need to be comfortable 😅 i grew up in a house where my parents rarely turned on the A/C, and pammie and i have both our A/Cs on 24/7 now that we pay for it ourselves! donna kept saying how nice the weather was here (bc it’s nasty as fuck in north carolina). she visited her friend who lives near my sister and wfh, and her friend kept saying how hot it was, but she was trying to hold off turning the A/C till the afternoon, and donna was like, ‘let me crack open this window’ and her friend was like, ‘DON’T YOU DARE OPEN THAT WINDOW AND LET MORE HEAT IN!, DONNA!!!’ perimenopause, amirite? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
i def don’t have that scarcity mentality. in fact, pammie tells me i’m very wasteful on a regular basis 😆

Another bts concert. I mean…wow.
Hm interesting! Cal also has no problem keeping the ac on and he grew up in a house with no ac. That house still has no ac. And the other day, he was telling his parents to come over so they didnt have to suffer in this heat. His parents could install AC at their house if they wanted to, but they wont. A couple years ago they installed this expensive water filtering system in their house. Cal said, “we can drink the shower water, but you’ll still be melting in this heat during summer. Makes no sense.” LOL

my parents house has always had A/C and they even have solar panels now and still barely use the A/C! before i come over, i’m like, ‘1. do you want me to bring any food? 2. is the A/C on?!’
