This is the wildest transaction I’ve seen on Venmo 😳
I prefer Zelle to send money bc it’s instant and private. But I was on my phone and I couldn’t remember my Chase password LOL (it’s saved on my laptop), so I opened my Venmo app to pay Pammie for our drinks (she bought lunch!), and saw this transaction in my feed between my relative and his future ex-wife.
A couple things:
- I have always found Venmo’s social media feed cringe and unnecessary. Like, I don’t need to know that someone I once sold tickets to on Craigslist paid their roommate for their share of the utility bill – I signed up for Venmo yearssss ago when they were still automatically adding device contacts as friends, so half my Venmo ‘friends’ aren’t even my friends IRL.
- Do people not have any shame in the game anymore? Not every aspect of your life needs to be posted. Not every relationship needs an audience.
- Do people not know that their transactions on Venmo can be private?
…unless you wanted this to be public? bc I already showed it unredacted to my sister and my cousin and all 3 people who still read this blog ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
