jesse chat sd county fair

There is a hell, and it’s the Via de la Valle off ramp during fair season! It took us four hours to get to the fair last night, but the deep fried deliciousness and freakishly large turkey legs that put me in a food coma made it worth the drive!

I think it was like 10-15 feet per song on the radio. We totally went through the local San Diego radio playlist!

it didn’t feel like four hours, but i think we were just delirious from the lack of blood sugar coursing through our veins! ha.

some asshole that shall remain nameless waited in line for over an hour and a half at the ‘new’ viejas buffet. if there is a silver lining in this, it’s that my, i mean some asshole’s dad made more than a few beer runs to pass the time…

at least that asshole had beer! by the time i got to the fair, it was too late for margaritas and sold-out porkabello kabobs… my parents actually went to the ‘new’ buffet on the 4th and said it was nothing to write home about. was it worth the wait?

absolutely not. i never really had a good experience at the viejas buffet, so i really wasn’t expecting my mind to be blown. i did spend about two weeks before that on a protein shake diet consisting of about six-seven shakes a day topping out at 200g of protein/day to get my shred on, so i thought even a mediocre buffet would hit the spot. i just ended up wishing i went to the barona buffet instead…

you would think it’d be easy to get your mind blown after sucking down all that protein… that’s how i felt after my 10-day juice cleanse, at least. everything tasted like heaven that first day back on solid foods! the things we do to get shredded, huh? or in my case, to be able to partake in some fine ass dining without feeling too guilty about it.
