Kevin Garrett is so underrated. When I lived in LA, I would see him whenever he’d have a show in town. I even saw him in SD once (at the venue across the street from the apartment I live in now!).
He was signed to Jay-Z’s label, Roc Nation, when I first discovered him nearly a decade ago, and he wrote the lead track on Beyonce’s Lemonade album. Fortunate to have seen him live at smaller venues (The Echo, The Wiltern, Troubadour, Hotel Cafe, Quartyard), but I’m still waiting for him to get the flowers he so deserves 💐
